This ethnographic piece
was made by the Qashgai people and dates
back to before the 1950's. Striking in it's
combination of colour, this rug was probably
intended for ceremonial occasions including
weddings and tribal gatherings.
The
two flaps at each corner would have fitted
around the horse's neck, and the tassels
left to hang around and behind the horse.
